Michel Chapoutier is one of the most respected and influential wine producers in the Rhône Valley, with a legacy that combines tradition, innovation, and an uncompromising commitment to terroir. Established in 1808, the Chapoutier estate gained international renown under the leadership of Michel, who took over in 1990. Under his guidance, the winery embraced biodynamic viticulture—long before it became widely fashionable—becoming a pioneer in sustainable and holistic winemaking practices in the region.
Chapoutier produces wines from both the northern and southern Rhône, with holdings in many of the valley's most prestigious appellations. The line-up will provide the opportunity to taste the very rare Ermitage Le Pavillon, one of the estate’s most iconic and revered wines, sourced from a tiny parcel of ancient Syrah vines planted on the granitic slopes of the Hermitage Hill. Acclaimed by critics at every release, Le Pavillon stands as a benchmark for northern Rhône Syrah and a testament to Chapoutier’s philosophy of expressing the purest essence of terroir.
