Join us for an intimate tasting of SC Pannell Wines, hosted by none other than Steve Pannell himself—winemaker, proprietor, and one of Australia’s most influential voices in modern wine. Steve will share the philosophies that shape his winemaking, the inspirations behind his craft, and how he brings those ideas to life in the glass.
Tuesday 16th of Dec | 6pm | $69pp
We begin with two purpose-made Rosés—wines crafted with intention from vineyards and varieties selected specifically for Rosé, each reflecting its region. From there, we move into Steve’s greatest passion: Grenache. As the true expression of McLaren Vale’s terroir, this bracket builds to the debut release of the remarkable Sunrise 99 Grenache, sourced from old vines in Blewitt Springs—a once-in-a-generation site that has enabled Steve to create the Grenache he has long imagined.
The next bracket highlights Koomilya Shiraz- where place, Australian ingenuity, and a touch of nostalgia converge. Koomilya represents Steve’s long-held vision for a modern style of Shiraz inspired by the character of McLaren Vale wines from the 1960s, including Halliday’s Shiraz of the Year.
We conclude with a bracket of “alternative” varieties—Nebbiolo, Nero d’Avola, and Aglianico—exciting new releases that Steve believes will help shape the future of Australian wine in a warming climate.
