Laherte Freres Les Grandes Crayeres is a newer Blanc de Blanc bottling
from Aurelian Lahertes. This wine showcases the terroirs of Chavot and Epernay.
A Champagne made from 100% Chardonnay with 40% composed of reserve wines
aged in barrels. Fermentation is all spontaneous with a partial malolactic
conversion. Zero dosage.
Having tried both Les Grandes
Crayeres and the other Blanc de Blancs Brut
Nature from Laherte Freres, I'd say this wine conforms more to
the detailed, elegant style of Champagne, a bit of autolysis and aldehyde
but very well-kempt and elegant. A lingering, wonderfully
stuctured palate and a truly classy Champagne.
