Clarendon Hills Astralis 2018

The 2018 vintage of Astralis Syrah stands as a benchmark release from Clarendon Hills, reflecting decades of dedication to a single, dry-grown site in McLaren Vale. Discovered in 1990, the vineyard is planted with old vines and has since developed a reputation for producing wines of remarkable depth and longevity.

Crafted by Roman Bratasiuk, who has worked with this site for over 30 years, the wine is hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and matured for 18 months in premium French oak. Every step of production, from vineyard to bottle, is handled by the estate’s in-house team, ensuring a consistent and focused expression of terroir.

Astralis takes its name from the stars—a nod to both its celestial inspiration and its lofty status in Australian wine. Regularly ranked among the country's finest, it is classified as ‘Exceptional’ by Langton’s, joining the ranks of Australia’s most iconic wines. The 2018 release has received multiple top-tier scores, including two perfect 100-point ratings and several others just shy of that mark.
