Marcoux's Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is a Roussanne-dominant blend
with Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc and Clairette. The grapes were whole-bunch
pressed and fermented naturally in mostly steel tanks, with a portion of the
wine going into Stockinger cask - a cooperage sometimes referred
to as the Stradivarius of barrelmaking. As always, there was no bâtonnage, to
further underline the wine's purity and freshness. The 2019 is a stunning
release: a wine of tremendous purity, flesh and seduction.
