Henschke The Wheelwright Shiraz 2022

Henschke The Wheelwright Shiraz 2022 is a single vineyard Eden Valley Shiraz from Henschke, drawn from old vines planted in 1968 and shaped by organic and biodynamic vineyard practices at altitude.

Tasting notes open with raspberry, black cherry and boysenberry, lifted by violet florals and a finely detailed spice line of nutmeg and aniseed. The palate is poised and layered, moving through mulberry, blueberry and black plum with white and pink peppercorn, sage and wild fennel. Acidity is finely tuned, giving drive and precision, while silky tannins carry a long, elegant finish.

Style wise this is a cool climate, old vine Shiraz defined by perfume, detail and structure rather than weight.

Best with duck, roast lamb or game dishes.
