Les Fruits Tullah Grenache 2022

70+ year old Grenache on beach sand at Blewitt Springs. Fermented gently with a good proportion of whole bunches. Pressed to old oak to rest on fine lees unsulphured for 11 months.

Clear pale red with brilliant ruby highlights; the lightness of colour identifying the lightness of extraction. Coastal saltbush berry and red and black raspberries lift above the spice and cocoa notes. Pretty but with a hint of the dark side. The palate is fresh and has a nice juiciness and deeply concentrated flavours of salty red and purple berries, raspberry bootstraps, sweet spices and a mineral salinity. Mouth-watering
acidity adds length and juiciness, and the surprising present tannins suggest this is capable of much more. A nice example of why Grenache loves sand. Darkness and Light.
