Michael Hall Sang De Pigeon Blanc 2021

On the eastern fringe of Eden Valley the maverick Stonegarden vineyard was established in the early 1860’s. Post war, around 1946, a block was planted to a rainbow of aromatic whites, mainly red and white muscat a petits grains, liberally peppered with Riesling, Chenin Blanc and Verdelho.

Fair winter rains and a cool summer gave a healthy crop of excellent quality. Stonegarden was picked on the 28th of February, pressed to French oak and wild yeast barrel fermented. The Roussanne from Milky Hill was picked on 24th February and fermented in tank. All matured for nine months on yeast lees then filtered and bottled.
