Vanguardist Wines Adelaide Hills Blanc 2017
This is a must have. Vanguardist wines aim to push the realms of standard winemaking to deliver intrigue, excitement and quality, without any loss of sense of place.
The winemaking for this cuvee sees about one-third of the co-harvested Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc destemmed and fermented on skins for about twelve weeks, in oeuf. The balance was foot crushed and whole bunch pressed after about 5 hours of skin contact. This was transferred to old oak barriques and went through a natural fermentation. The wine underwent elevage on full lees in oak for nearly twelve months prior to racking by gravity and bottling unfined-unfiltered.
