Feudo Montoni Nero D'avola Lagnusa 2022

Feudo Montoni enjoys a long history in the Valledolmo region of central western Sicily. The property was purchased by current owner and winemaker Fabio Sireci’s grandfather Rosario in the late 1800s. 
In local Sicilian dialect, ‘Lagnusa’, meaning lazy, alludes to the naturally low yields inherent in this vineyard. This site sits at around 600 metres and is primarily comprised of sand and clay. This terroir amplifies quality by producing smaller, denser berries that have greater concentration and capacity for structure. This is not your typical Nero. The cooler nights create well defines red berry fruits and tannins that are different in shape to the coastal vineyard versions. This is bright, juicy and vivid. A delicious summer red that lends to being cooled slightly before drinking.
