JIM BARRY: FEATURED WINERY OF THE WEEK

JIM BARRY: FEATURED WINERY OF THE WEEK

Jim Barry was founded in 1959 by the late Jim Barry and his wife Nancy. Jim was a pioneer of the Australian Wine Industry, graduating as Australia’s 17th qualified winemaker from Roseworthy Agriculture College, becoming the first qualified winemaker in Clare.

Today the company is overseen by the next two generations, son Peter and grandchildren Tom, Sam and Olivia Barry. Over the last 60 years the Barry family has worked to establish a mosaic of 18 vineyards across the Clare Valley, and 2 vineyards in Coonawarra, each different in aspect and soil, creating unique Australian wines with a regional focus and a true sense of place.

Jim Barry Wines have become synonymous with crafting quality Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec while also pioneering the variety Assyrtiko outside of Greece. The Family’s commitment to quality and drive for producing better wines every year, has been rewarded with one of Australia’s most prestigious accolades ‘James Halliday’s 2020 Winery of the Year’.

This is your chance to try the following wines on offer on Friday 19th August at 5pm-7pm and Saturday 20th August from 4pm-6pm as part of the East End Cellars Winery of the Week.
