What's the perfect way to welcome Spring? A decadent evening of delicious food paired with fine Burgundy wine of Domaine Rougeot and Domaine Corcia. This time we are hosting a dinner in the heart of Adelaide at East End Cellars. Their executive chef Josh Lansley has taken time to craft a menu to pair perfectly with our wine selection to bring out even the most subtle flavours of Meursault and Mercurey. This is a chef that has spent time sourcing and developing close relationships with local producers over the years to access the very best and sometimes unusual seasonal produce that South Australia has to offer.

Diving into the evening you will begin with a Blanc de Blancs by Champagne Girard-Bonnet, a powerful opening to awaken the palate before moving straight into the Burgundy terroir with our first flight. I am excited to begin with the Domaine Rougeot - Saint-Romain "La Combe Bazin" 2022 and Domaine Corcia - Mercurey Blanc "Pontot" 2022 as an introduction. These are wines presenting chiselled white apple purity and a lovely minerality, playing off the stunning entree served up alongside them. 

As the next dish is served, a glass of Domaine Rougeot - Meursault "Sous la Velle" 2022 and Domaine Corcia - Mercurey 1er cru "Crets" 2022 will be poured side by side. Placing a classic Meursault next to the more discreet Mercurey plays a perfect part in opening up your palate to the possibilities of the terroir. 

Your next step will be into the red wine territory of Pommard where the Domaine Rougeot - Pommard "Clos des Roses" 2022 presents a lovely savoury character alongside rose petals. This will be paired with the Domaine Corcia - Mercurey "Les Chezeaux" 2022, a welcome entry of red wine from Mercurey that I have truly enjoyed exploring.

Shifting to the Premier Crus of the evening the penultimate flight showcases three stunning Pinot Noirs, Domaine Rougeot - Volnay 1er cru "Les Santenots" 2022 and Domaine Corcia - Mercurey 1er cru "Les Crets" 2022 will play off each other in an exciting manner as their ethereal nature shines through with the final main course. Of course, to top it off you will also have a third wine for this flight with the Domaine Corcia - Mercurey Rouge "Grillot" 2022 poured for a finale.

Allowing the taste buds to refresh and to conclude the evening with your dessert, a glass of Jean-Marc Roulots - L'Abricot du Roulot will be provided for you. A sweet ending to an exciting journey through the Cote d'Or and beyond. I hope to see you there.
