Succo Puro Sangiovese is a distinctive expression of Langhorne Creek, created through Project 5255 to showcase the region’s exceptional fruit and winemaking potential. Sourced from organically grown Sangiovese at Watkins Wines, the fruit was handpicked and fermented entirely as whole bunches in concrete before spending 10 months in terracotta amphora. This approach favours aromatic purity, savoury complexity and the variety’s natural freshness, without the influence of oak. Expect vibrant red cherry, wild raspberry and dried herbs, with subtle earthy spice and fine, textural tannins. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, this is a thoughtful, contemporary Australian Sangiovese, particularly suited to handmade pasta, charcuterie or roast pork.
