The 2023 Bowen Estate Shiraz is a fresh, balanced expression of Coonawarra Shiraz, shaped by a cooler growing season and the Bowen family’s hands on approach to vineyard management. Estate grown and hand pruned, the fruit reflects the family’s focus on developing flavour and maintaining varietal character, particularly in cooler vintages.

A slow spring followed by cooler, damp conditions through February and March encouraged a more measured ripening period, resulting in an expressive Shiraz with freshness and moderate alcohol. Bright red fruit leads the way, supported by hints of liquorice and bay leaf. American oak adds gentle structure, complementing the natural tannins rather than dominating the fruit.

Approachable now, with the balance to develop over the next five to seven years. Enjoy with grilled lamb, slow cooked beef or a hearty mushroom dish.
