The 2024 Adelaide Hills Sangiovese is a refined expression of this classic Italian variety, sourced from a west facing vineyard in Forreston, where deep red soils and gentle afternoon warmth encourage balanced ripening. The palate is medium bodied and finely structured, with a focus on freshness, savoury character and the variety’s distinctive powdery tannins. Gentle extraction during fermentation builds texture without excessive weight, while eight months in seasoned French oak allows the fruit to remain at the forefront. At 12.5% alcohol, this is an elegant, restrained style of Sangiovese with a natural affinity for food. Particularly suited to tomato based pasta, roast pork or grilled lamb.
