A characterful old vine Burgundy from one of the Côte de Beaune’s quieter appellations.

Domaine de Cassiopee’s Maranges Rouge Les Plantes 2021 comes from remarkable 110 year old Pinot Noir vines, giving the wine real depth without losing freshness. Wild berries, violet and orange peel sit alongside smoked meat and subtle savoury spice.

The palate is fleshy and energetic, with bright acidity, ripe powdery tannins and a generous core of fruit. There is plenty of structure here, but also an easy natural flow that makes it very appealing now. A great match for duck, roast pork or mushroom dishes.
