Domaine de Cassiopée’s Le Saugeot 2023 is a cooler, more restrained expression of Maranges Pinot Noir, sourced from a high elevation parcel near Sampigny-les-Maranges. The nose is perfumed and lifted, with red cherry, wild raspberry and subtle floral notes alongside a fine savoury edge.

The palate is fresh and energetic, showing bright red fruit carried by a fine line of acidity. There’s a touch more structure and gentle austerity compared to other cuvées, balanced by a subtle mineral and saline drive that gives shape and tension through the finish.

A precise, food friendly Burgundy with a slightly cooler profile, this pairs well with roast chicken, grilled salmon or mushroom dishes, and is best enjoyed in its youthful window with a light chill.
