Domaine Marcel Deiss Burg 2018

A powerful and highly distinctive Alsace field blend from the Burg vineyard in Bergheim, built for texture, depth and long ageing.

The palate is broad, dense and almost pulpy, with firm acidity driving through notes of iodine, wet stone, graphite, citrus pith and a pronounced quinine like bitterness on the finish. Despite its richness, there is a cool, structured feel that keeps the wine precise and tightly wound.

Made from a traditional blend of Alsatian varieties grown on Keuper marl with limestone, this is a serious, semi dry wine with real cellaring potential. Excellent with oysters, lobster, foie gras or blue cheese.
