Domaine Rougeot’s La Monatine 2022 is a generous, fruit-forward Chardonnay that sits just below Meursault in classification but carries plenty of character and depth. Sourced from parcels near Sous la Velle, it shows the influence of both regional and village-level fruit.

The nose is open and expressive, with ripe yellow citrus, lemon curd and white stone fruit, lifted by a fresh, clean edge. The palate is rounded and mouth-filling, offering more generosity than tension, with soft texture and a straightforward, juicy fruit profile that remains balanced and drinkable.

An easygoing yet flavourful white Burgundy, it works well with roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes or grilled seafood, best enjoyed in its youth while the fruit is at its most vibrant.
