Fumey Chatelain Chardonnay 2020

A precise, mineral driven Jura Chardonnay from Domaine Fumey Chatelain, showing the cleaner, more contemporary side of Arbois.

Fruit comes from organically farmed Chardonnay vines aged between 20 and 50 years, planted on marl and limestone soils. Expect citrus, white stone fruit and subtle savoury notes, with a distinct flinty edge running through the wine.

The fruit is gently basket pressed, wild fermented, then matured on lees for 24 months in stainless steel and foudre. The result is finely textured and fresh rather than oxidative, with excellent length and clarity. A natural match for roast chicken, Comté or simply prepared seafood.
