G D Vajra Albe Barolo 2022

A beautifully composed Barolo from G.D. Vajra, blending high elevation Nebbiolo vineyards across the Barolo DOCG.

Rose petal, amarena cherry and mountain strawberry lead the nose, followed by cedar, juniper, blood orange and subtle floral notes. The palate is silky and finely structured, with juicy dark fruit, refined tannins and a long mineral finish.

The fruit was hand sorted, given an extended 36 day maceration, then matured for 22 months in large Slavonian oak casks. Elegant, fragrant and energetic, Albe offers a classic expression of Barolo with impressive approachability. Excellent with braised beef, mushroom dishes or mature hard cheese.
