Giacomo Fenocchio Barbera D'alba Superiore 2023

Claudio Fenocchio’s Barbera d’Alba is a vibrant, fruit driven expression from 30-year-old vines in Monforte d’Alba, offering plenty of character at an approachable level. Deep ruby with garnet hues, it opens with lifted aromas of raspberry, cherry and strawberry, followed by subtle balsamic spice. The palate is juicy and silky, with generous dark fruit balanced by Barbera’s naturally high acidity. Fermented naturally and matured in stainless steel and large Slavonian oak, it retains freshness while gaining a little savoury depth. Full bodied but energetic, with a lingering balsamic finish, this is a versatile Piedmont red for pasta, pizza or braised meats.
