Grasshopper Rock Central Otago Pinot Noir 2022

Grasshopper Rock Central Otago Pinot Noir 2022 is a finely structured and elegant expression from one of New Zealand’s premier Pinot Noir regions.

Deep purple with garnet highlights, the nose is perfumed with violets, blackberry, strawberry, subtle spice, chocolate and dried herbs. The palate is layered and concentrated, showing dark plum, cherry, floral and forest floor notes, supported by fine-grained tannins, firm acidity and a persistent, mineral-tinged finish.

Hand-harvested and partially whole-bunch fermented, the wine matured for ten months in French oak barriques, 28% new, allowing the fruit and structure to harmonise beautifully. The 2022 vintage, marked by perfect ripening conditions, delivers both immediacy and age-worthy complexity.

Serve with roasted duck, mushroom risotto or venison.
