Hacienda El Olmo Tempranillo 2021

A beautifully traditional Rioja Crianza, showing Tempranillo in a fresh, savoury and quietly detailed style.

Strawberry and red cherry sit alongside leather, tobacco, dried herbs and earthy spice. The palate is supple and open, with ripe fruit, gentle tannins and bright natural acidity carrying the wine through a long, savoury finish.

Fruit is sourced from contrasting sites across Rioja, including higher altitude limestone soils near Laguardia and Lantziego. After fermentation, the wine spends 14 months in predominantly French oak. Elegant rather than heavy, this is an easy match for roast lamb, charcuterie or slow cooked pork.
