Henschke Mount Edelstone Shiraz 70Th

Henschke Mount Edelstone 70th Anniversary Release 2022 is a landmark single vineyard Shiraz from Henschke’s Eden Valley site, made to celebrate one of Australia’s most historic old vine vineyards.

Tasting notes open with dark bramble fruit, black cherry and satsuma plum, layered with sage, bay leaf and thyme. The palate is rich and concentrated, unfolding black and blue fruits with cocoa, anise and dark spice, all framed by fine cedar oak and a savoury herbal edge. Tannins are supple and velvety, carrying the wine through a long, balanced finish with real presence.

Style wise this is a powerful yet finely detailed old vine Shiraz, built for structure, depth and long term cellaring.

Best with slow roasted lamb shoulder, beef rib or game meats.
