Hubert Lamy Chassagne Montrachet La Goujonne Vieilles Vignes is a distinguished expression of red Burgundy, sourced from a 1.06 hectare parcel of Pinot Noir vines planted in 1950. Situated on deep clay soils with an eastern exposure, the vineyard produces a wine of concentration, elegance and structure. Aromas of dark cherry, wild raspberry and violet are complemented by subtle earthy spice and savoury complexity. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts and significant whole bunch inclusion lends aromatic depth and finely structured tannins. Extended maturation in barrel and tank brings further refinement, with a long, composed finish. A cellar worthy Pinot Noir, particularly suited to roast duck, game or wild mushrooms.
