The 2023 Hubert Lamy Santenay Clos des Hâtes Rouge is a finely detailed expression of Burgundy Pinot Noir, sourced from a small, densely planted vineyard bordering the Premier Cru Passetemps. Grown on deep clay soils above the village of Santenay, it offers an elegant balance of fruit, structure and savoury complexity. Fragrant red cherry, wild raspberry and delicate florals are complemented by earthy spice and subtle herbal notes. The palate is precise and beautifully textured, with fine tannins, fresh acidity and a persistent, mineral finish. Fermented with a significant proportion of whole bunches and matured slowly in predominantly seasoned oak, this is a thoughtful, cellar worthy Burgundy. Particularly suited to roast duck or game.
