Le Ragnaie Vv Brunello Di Montalcino 2009

Le Ragnaie V.V. Brunello di Montalcino 2009 is a rare old vine expression of Sangiovese from one of the highest vineyards in Montalcino, planted in 1968 at more than 600 metres elevation.

The wine is finely built and aromatic, with red cherry and dried flowers layered with tobacco, dried herbs, earthy spice and subtle espresso notes. The palate is silky and medium bodied, with fresh acidity and fine grained tannins giving definition to the warmer 2009 vintage.

Produced in tiny quantities, this is a mature, traditional Brunello with elegance rather than sheer weight. Ideal with roast lamb, wild mushrooms or aged pecorino.
