Mario Marengo Barolo 2019 Magnum

A family-owned estate established in 1899, M.Marengo is today run by Marco, Eugenia and their son Stefano.

The family owns and farms 6 hectares of vineyards,  including 1.2 hectares of the famous Brunate cru and 1 hectare of Bricco delle Viole, one of the main crus of the town of Barolo.

Very pale garnet. This could almost be a decongestant, it's so powerfully aromatic. Broad and with really powerful fruit and tannins underneath. Great structure. Still quite a bit of tannin. - 17/20, Jancis Robinson
