Meo Camuzet Clos De Vougeot Pres Le Cellier Grand Cru 2017

A grand Cru Burgundy from Domaine Méo Camuzet, the 2017 Clos de Vougeot “Pré le Cellier” shows the estate’s signature blend of precision, richness and controlled power.

The nose is expressive yet refined, with wild strawberry, red cherry and cassis layered over violet, incense and fine cedar from well judged oak. On the palate it is medium to full bodied, with a supple, generous core of red fruit and spice carried by finely grained tannins. There is a chalky mineral thread underneath that brings shape and lift.

The style is polished and approachable for a Grand Cru, but still built for time. Expect further complexity with cellaring, especially around earthy and savoury development. Best with roast duck, beef fillet or game dishes.
