Michael Hall Stonewell Shiraz 2023

A tightly structured Barossa Valley Shiraz from Michael Hall, sourced from the Stonewell Road vineyard on ironstone rich soils.

Blackberry, blood plum and black cherry lead the way, with violet, graphite, liquorice and dried herbs adding savoury depth. The palate is medium to full bodied, with concentrated dark fruit, fine tannins and a firm mineral edge that gives the wine real length.

Hand picked fruit was wild fermented with 20% whole bunch, then matured for 15 months in French oak, 40% new. Powerful but controlled, this is a serious, age worthy Shiraz. Excellent with roast lamb, beef or slow cooked meats.
