Ochota Barrels Where's The Pope Syrah 2026

The 2026 Ochota Barrels McLaren Vale Syrah is a beautifully fragrant, lighter expression of Shiraz, sourced from an organically farmed vineyard in the Onkaparinga Hills. Picked early and made with 65% whole bunch fermentation, it offers remarkable flavour and texture.

Dark berries, black olive tapenade and dried autumn leaves shape the nose, with subtle spice and earthy complexity. The palate is supple and savoury, with delicate tannins, fresh acidity and a lingering, gently herbal finish. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it retains a lovely sense of freshness and purity.

Just 1,698 bottles produced, this is a distinctive, highly drinkable Syrah, particularly good alongside roast lamb, grilled mushrooms or charcuterie.
