Paracombe Cabernet Franc 2020

Paracombe’s 2020 Cabernet Franc is a rare single varietal Australian expression, sourced entirely from mature 1983 plantings in the ironstone-rich soils of the Paracombe vineyard. It shows the variety’s aromatic lift and finesse in a cool-climate Australian context.

The nose is fragrant and expressive, with violets, red berries and lifted spice alongside subtle fresh tobacco and floral tones. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, flowing fruit, showing red cherry, spiced plum and a gentle aniseed note. Fine tannins and balanced acidity give structure, carrying through to a long, elegant finish.

Supple yet detailed, this is a refined food wine that pairs beautifully with mushroom dishes, roast duck or game, and can be enjoyed now or with short-term cellaring.
