Penfolds Grange 2012

Penfolds Grange 2012 is a benchmark release of Australian Shiraz from Penfolds, sourced across premium South Australian vineyards and built for long term cellaring and presence.

Tasting notes sit in deep blackberry and dark plum with layers of black cherry, cocoa and fine spice. The oak is present but well folded in, adding shape rather than sweetness. Tannins are firm and even, giving the wine drive through a long, structured finish.

Style wise this is a full bodied Barossa led Shiraz Syrah blend, focused on power, detail and ageing potential rather than immediate generosity.

Best enjoyed with slow roasted lamb shoulder or rich beef dishes.
