Penfolds St Henri Shiraz 2010 is a multi regional Australian Shiraz from Penfolds, drawn from Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and Coonawarra, and matured in large old oak vats to let fruit expression lead the way.
Tasting notes open with dense blackberry, dark plum and ripe black cherry, layered with dark chocolate, liquorice and a fine spice lift. The palate is rich and seamless, with a velvety flow, supple tannins and a long, even finish where fruit and savoury tones sit in balance rather than oak.
Style wise this is a plush yet restrained Shiraz, focusing on purity of fruit, texture and length rather than overt oak influence.
Best with slow roasted lamb, beef rib or mushroom based dishes.
