Pierre Huet 6 Year Old Monbazillac Cask Finish Calvados is a distinctive expression of Normandy’s Pays d’Auge, combining traditional apple brandy craftsmanship with the richness of sweet Bordeaux wine casks. Double distilled in copper pot stills, it spends six years ageing in oak, including a final six months in barrels previously used for Monbazillac. Aromas of baked apple, ripe pear and candied fruit are complemented by acacia honey, exotic fruit and delicate sweet spice. The palate is rounded and finely textured, with orchard fruit, gentle oak warmth and a lingering, honeyed finish. Best enjoyed neat after dinner, particularly alongside apple tart or aged cheeses.
