Rieslingfreak’s 2025 Riesling is a tightly wound, high energy expression from one of Australia’s leading Riesling specialists, John Hughes. A challenging vintage with low yields delivered remarkable concentration and freshness. The nose is packed with lime, lemon pith, grapefruit, green apple, orange rind and white flowers, with chalk and slate adding a mineral edge. The palate is lean and focused, driven by crisp acidity and intense citrus fruit, with subtle talc and flint through the finish. At just 11.5% ABV, it is light on its feet but far from simple. A precise, cellar worthy Riesling with 6 to 8 years ahead of it.
