Roberto Voerzio Barolo Sarmassa 2013 is a powerful yet finely detailed expression of Nebbiolo from the Sarmassa cru, a site known for producing structured, long-lived Barolo with depth and intensity. Voerzio’s meticulous vineyard work and low yields bring both concentration and precision to this wine.
The nose is rich and layered, offering dark cherry, plum and blackberry alongside notes of rose petal, spice and earthy complexity. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with dense fruit framed by firm, finely grained tannins and vibrant acidity that gives lift and definition.
Despite its power, the wine remains balanced and poised, with a long, persistent finish marked by savoury notes of liquorice, tobacco and mineral nuance. Now entering a more open phase, it will continue to evolve beautifully with further cellaring, pairing perfectly with braised meats, game and truffle-driven dishes.
