Scarzello Vigna Merenda Barolo 2019 is the flagship wine of the estate, sourced from a prized parcel within the Sarmassa cru. From a standout vintage for Barolo, it reflects both the power of the site and the traditional, terroir-focused approach of the Scarzello family.

The nose is highly aromatic and complex, with cherry, plum and fig layered over violet, dried orange peel, liquorice, herbs and subtle balsamic tones. The palate is poised and structured, showing layers of red fruit, tobacco, tar and spice, framed by firm yet finely integrated tannins and vibrant acidity.

Long and detailed on the finish, this is a Barolo of finesse and energy rather than heaviness, with both immediate appeal and significant ageing potential through to 2035 and beyond. It pairs beautifully with truffle dishes, braised meats, game or rich Piedmontese cuisine.
