Spinifex Tempranillo 2024

Spinifex Tempranillo offers a distinctive interpretation of this classic Spanish variety, sourced from a single vineyard in the foothills of the Barossa Valley. Crafted by Peter Schell, it favours freshness and varietal expression over excessive richness, with vibrant red cherry, dark plum and subtle savoury spice complemented by earthy, herbal notes. The palate is medium bodied and finely structured, with juicy fruit, lively acidity and supple tannins providing an appealing balance of texture and freshness. Handpicked early, wild fermented and matured for six months on lees in seasoned French oak puncheons, it retains a purity of fruit and understated complexity. Particularly suited to charcuterie, grilled lamb or Spanish inspired dishes.
