Turon Pinot Noir Hills 2024 is a more detailed and structured take on Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir, drawing from high altitude sites in Piccadilly Valley and Lenswood.
Deeper and more brooding in style, it opens with black cherry, bramble and roasted beetroot, alongside hints of truffle, dried herbs and savoury cured meat. The palate is layered and precise, with fine yet firm tannins and a line of acidity that carries through a long, composed finish.
Handpicked and wild fermented with partial whole bunch, then matured in French oak, this Pinot balances fruit intensity with structure and savoury complexity, offering both immediate interest and cellaring potential. Awarded 95 points by Halliday Wine Companion, it reflects both site and thoughtful winemaking.
Pair with duck, mushroom dishes or slow roasted meats.
95/100 Halliday Wine Companion:
A firm, tannin-strict style with dried Italianate herbs draped on dark cherry, cola, faint mocha and some granitic, smoky elements, all playing well together. A little juiciness, but more about being a dry, savoury style than anything. Structured and serious; this is one for big glasses and a good decant to get its best. Proper stuff.
