Vanguardist Oeno Grenache 2024

The Oeno Grenache perfectly demonstrates why Michael Corbett is widely seen as one of Australia’s leading voices in Blewitt Springs Grenache. Drawn from 54-year-old bush vines growing in the deep sands of the Rende Vineyard, the wine favours precision over power, showing remarkable clarity, texture and drive.

The fruit was handpicked and fermented with 60% whole bunches, then aged for 15 months in French oak puncheons and a 1,500L concrete sphere. It opens with lifted aromas of red cherry, cranberry and spice, supported by delicate herbal and floral tones. The palate is shaped by fine, well-groomed tannins, giving it length and definition.

Although Oeno sits at the gateway to the Vanguardist portfolio, it carries the same class, finesse and attention to detail as the flagship releases. Bright, pure and effortlessly drinkable, it is another standout example of contemporary McLaren Vale Grenache.
