Weingut Bernhard Ott Der Ott Gruner Veltliner 2021

A more serious expression of Grüner Veltliner, made from younger vines in Bernhard Ott’s top Spiegel, Stein and Rosenberg vineyards across Wagram and Kamptal.

The 2021 shows ripe pear, citrus, white pepper and subtle herbal notes, with a broad, layered palate and plenty of mineral detail. Fermented spontaneously on full lees in large Stockinger oak, it has a generous, almost Burgundian texture while retaining the freshness and tension that defines top Grüner Veltliner.

Made from organically farmed, hand picked fruit grown on loess soils, this is built to age but already drinks beautifully with schnitzel, roast pork or richer seafood dishes.
