The sub region of Moppa lies at the northern most tip of the Barossa Valley’s western edge. The undulating landscape is rich with ancient stone and red/ brown loams, mirroring the profile and geological diversity of our other vineyard sources at Marananga and Seppeltsfield. Together, these three estates form the foundation of our winemaking masterplan.

The High Ridge block sits at one of the highest points in the Moppa region at around 340 meters above sea level. This country produces world class Cabernet, with the storied Penfolds Block 42 vineyard located nearby. The elevated location is ideal for producing intensely flavoured Cabernet Sauvignon wines.

The wine displays floral aromas of red cherry and blackcurrant intermingled with notes of roasted capsicum and menthol/ eucalypt on the nose – all the hallmarks of a grand Cabernet wine. The palate is classic Cabernet, with hints of roast capsicum and sage adding textural and savoury elements to the rich layers of black fruit. The long, fine chalky tannins are the hallmark of a grand Cabernet Sauvignon from an outstanding vineyard and exceptional Barossa Valley red wine vintage.
