The 2021 Seppeltsfield Barossa Mataro wine was sourced from a vineyard on the Southern side of the Barossa. Mataro’s consistency to perform well in the Barossa – providing structure, ripeness and flavour – has been evident since the 1800s, particularly as one of the backbone varieties to the regions earliest fortified wine styles. When adequately ripened in the vineyard, as a straight varietal expression, Mataro can strike great balance between savoury aromatics, fleshy palate and pliable tannin.
